The request was to retrain, restore and give a new use to the old cable car of the 40s designed by Arch.Giulio De Luca.
The strategic importance of the site, the structure and the sight of the Bagnoli area of outstanding beauty and expansion of Naples. The idea is to bring out the structure and “function” of the past by creating a flexible space and multipurpose monitoring this area: an “Urban Center” on Bagnoli.
A “telescope” with the steel structure, where the old shell remains intact and structure emerges completely.
The old space, a monolith of reinforced concrete approximately 30mc, became the strong point of the project: place once the wind-up mechanism for the cable car, today the wind-up mechanism of the visitor. Past that emerges from present!
