"d2w studio" was founded in 2009 from Nicola Di Dato and Maria Wancolle after our meeting. Two young architects with a different background but united by a passion for architecture. Ideology: Our “laboratory of ideas” born with the intention to create a “network” that works in Italy and abroad. The activities of the firm includes project of interior, urban project, theatre sets, installations, design and design contests. Philosophy: Our job is to disconnect from any formal logic and any aesthetic research; in each project, the architecture refers to the primary role of context and the “pleasure of the place” with sensitivity and specificity by creating uniqueness of the HIC ET NUNC. In the last year include wins international competitions and some publications. |

Nicola Di Dato_Fragneto Monforte (BN) ’78 , architect “You need great passion to achieve big things” I graduated in 2007 from the University of Naples “Federico II”, thesis project “Sensory path towards wellness” in Fragneto Monforte (Italy). After many experiences abroad educational (University of Guimaraes – Portugal) and work (London – U.K.), and moved by the great passion for architecture and the desire to experiment, learn, discover, invent, I founded in 2009, with Maria Wancolle, d2w studio. |

Maria Wancolle_Sala Consilina (SA) ’78, architect “Planting a tree in the garden is like decorating a room” I graduated from the University of Rome “La Sapienza” realizing the dream I had as a child: “to be an architect!” Thesis project: the redevelopment of an area degraded on banks of the Danube in Belgrade. My research has always been to combine Architecture with Nature, to make sure that the architecture creates emotions…as to see an amazing landscape or enjoy a sunset. In 2009 I founded with Nicola Di Dato d2w studio. Include experiences and collaborations in Italy and abroad (Lisbon - Portugal; London - U.K.; Dubai – EAU). |
